Fan favorite Nickelodeon shows iCarly and Victorious have aired their final episodes, but the stories of their sidekick characters continue in the new spin-off series Sam & Cat.

Yes, that’s brash, sarcastic Sam Puckett of iCarly and sweet, innocent Cat Valentine of Victorious — two girls who couldn’t be more different. In their eponymous new series, the duo meets when Sam travels from Seattle to talk about the web show at Hollywood Arts, Cat’s high school. They eventually become friends, and when Sam transplants permanently to L.A., they become roommates and start a babysitting business together.

Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Cat (Ariana Grande) share a room in their new home that is quite the display of their contrasting personalities. Check out your exclusive first look at their room below (and click on the photo to view a larger, high-res version):

Production designer Harry Matheu, who worked with set decorator Bonnie Bennetts to create the sets for the show, was very familiar with the characters of Sam & Cat since he had worked on both iCarly and Victorious.

“That’s what made this really awesome as far as designing sets for characters goes. We had such a rich history for both characters,” Matheu told EW. “We were able to look at stuff they had from their previous shows, and we had a really, really strong hook on their personalities.”

The bedroom is packed with storied mementos on both sides (if you couldn’t tell, Sam’s is the grungy left side, and Cat’s is the girly right side), but perhaps the most stand-out decoration is the urinal on Sam’s wall. That was a set piece that came right from the script, Matheu said. In an early episode of the show, when their bedroom is first revealed onscreen, Cat looks at the urinal and says, “Is that a boy toilet?” Matheu was pleased to get a nod to 20th century artist Marcel Duchamp’s toilet-as-art with the added modern touch of a lamp in there.

Each side of the room also has a piece of something iconic from the two shows that originated Sam and Cat. Maybe this should be a game of find the iconic Nickelodeon item… Found them yet? On Sam’s wall, next to the arched entryway is a framed photo of Sam’s remote used for sound effects on iCarly. On Cat’s side, above her bed is a photo of her acting teacher, Mr. Sikowitz.

The girls move into a house once occupied by Cat’s grandmother, Nona, who has made her new home at retirement community called Elderly Acres. Below check out an exclusive clip of Cat and Sam on a frantic search for Nona, with kids they’re babysitting in tow.

Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat premieres this Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
