Anna Faris reveals the food animal you won't see in 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2'

The sequel to 2009’s Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs takes place in a landscape inhabited by hordes of fantastical food-animal hybrids — including shrimpanzees, tacodiles, flamangos, and meatbalruses. But there’s one creation that didn’t make it into the final cut: the guacaghanoush, a being that came straight from the mind of Cloudy 2 star Anna Faris.

“This is so dumb,” the actress told EW on Wednesday afternoon with a laugh. “But I was trying to pitch to the directors a guacaghanoush character — like, some mound of guacamole and baba ghanoush.”

Unfortunately, Cloudy 2 directors Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn weren’t sold by Faris’ idea. “They’re like, ‘Okay, but what part is the animal?’ I’m like, ‘No no no, listen — it’s fusion food! Mexican/Middle Eastern! Guacaganoush!’ They didn’t want it.”

Channing Tatum does elaborate dance with 'White House Down' co-star on 'Good Morning America' -- VIDEO

When he’s not Channing all over your tatum, Channing Tatum is creating elaborate handshakes and charming everyone around him alongside his 13-year-old White House Down co-star Joey King. Would you expect anything less from a brand-new dad?

Tatum and King stopped by Good Morning America this morning where they chatted with Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer about their relationship on set, and the co-hosts then quizzed Tatum’s on-screen daughter about his skills as a parent. “He did a pleasant job,” King said with a laugh. “No, he did a great job being a dad. He’s so fun and playful and I’m so happy for him and [Tatum’s wife] Jenna and little [baby] Everly. She’s very lucky to have parents like Channing and Jenna. He’s going to make a great dad.”

Then, to prove his new Awkward Awesome Dad Status, Tatum and King performed an elaborate handshake that really doubled as a dance-off. His daughter may be mortified in 13 years, but everyone else should prepare to swoon and watch “The Chan-shake” below: READ FULL STORY

Witness a winter wonderland in a teaser trailer for Disney's 'Frozen' -- VIDEO

Great news for fans of Narnia’s winter world – Disney has got the family movie for you this holiday season.

Frozen, loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale The Snow Queen, will find a young girl named Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) trapped in a kingdom of eternal winter. She teams up with a mountain man (Jonathan Groff) and a sidekick reindeer on a journey to find Anna’s sister (Idina Menzel), whose powers are responsible for turning the kingdom into a 24/7 freezer, and put an end to her spell. With that vocal cast – and music by Book of Mormon Tony-winning songwriter Robert Lopez – adult fans may be most excited to check out the soundtrack while accompanying kiddos to the family-friendly film.

In a teaser short for the movie, viewers don’t get a song, but do get their first glimpse of the winter wonderland and a battle that must be all-too-common in the great white tundra: A silly fight over a carrot nose between a snowman and a reindeer.

'Jack the Giant Slayer': Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell ... a deleted scene! -- EXCLUSIVE CLIP

A classic fairy tale gets the modern-day action-movie treatment in Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer, which stars X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult as the titular adventurer and Eleanor Tomlinson as the princess who catalyzes his trip up the beanstalk. (She’s been whisked into the clouds by the enormous plant.)

The film is filled with lavish CGI, romance, and a bit of edge, as you’ll see from this deleted scene starring two royal guards. (Let’s go ahead and call them Mulder and Scully.) Warning, kids: This is what happens when you don’t believe in magic.

'Despicable Me 2': Gru's got a crush. Plus: more minion antics -- EXCLUSIVE CLIP

In 2010 animation hit Despicable Me villain-turned-dad Gru learned to love three little girls who became his daughters. In the upcoming sequel, it looks like there might be some romantic love in Gru’s future. A new clip features the Steve Carell-voiced character mustering up the bravery to ask Lucy Wilde of the Anti-Villain League out on a date.

In this exclusive clip, Gru prepares to call up Lucy, a new character voiced by Kristen Wiig, who provided the voice for Miss Hattie in the first movie. And, of course, some minions make an appearance in this clip too, though it’s not a display of the adorable yellow guys at their most helpful.

Check out the video below to see this moment from the film and to learn who Gru has on his speed dial: READ FULL STORY

Hold your horses, 'My Little Pony' fans: We've got a new 'Equestria Girls' trailer -- EXCLUSIVE

Yes, the idea of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic‘s equine mane six being recast as human high school students sounds a little crazy at first.

But it’s tough not to be charmed by that premise after watching this brand-spankin’-new trailer, which clearly lays out the movie’s plot. Shortly after she’s named a princess, Twilight Sparkle’s all-important crown is stolen by wicked Sunset Shimmer, who spirits it through a looking glass. In order to get the tiara back, Twilight must follow her adversary into a new and strange world — one populated by weird-two-legged creatures who bear an odd resemblance to her pony pals back in Equestria.

There’s some rote stuff here, to be sure (“Looks like if I want my crown back, I’ll have to become princess of the fall formal!”) — but Friendship is Magic‘s quirky-cute sense of humor appears to be largely intact, which is really all that matters.

See baby Mike Wazowski in final 'Monsters University' trailer -- VIDEO

With the release of Monsters University less than a month away, Disney/Pixar has released one final trailer for the eagerly anticipated prequel to 2001’s Monsters, Inc.

In this last preview, there’s a peek at itty-bitty Mike Wazowski (which we also got to see in a Japanese trailer released in March). He’s so cute! But cute is exactly what college student Mike doesn’t want to be — he has long dreamed of becoming a top-notch Scarer. This trailer features Mike working towards that dream and finding his place at college, as he butts heads with his roommate and friend-to-be Sully. Check it out below: READ FULL STORY

Steve Carell dresses as Gru, his 'Despicable Me 2' character, and dances for 'Ellen' -- VIDEO

Receiving a standing ovation from the audience, Steve Carell came out in full Gru-garb on Ellen (he even had the nose) to promote Despicable Me 2. Always committed, he kept in character the whole time, really stressing that accent! DeGeneres, trying to figure out the accent, asked him where he was from and he responded, “I’m from Albuquerque, New Mexico.” Adding, “Don’t push this topic.”

The audience of mostly (entirely?) adults absolutely loved all of it, especially when Carell danced like his character. Some things are just nice and this will definitely put a smile on your face.
