For audiences left wondering what happened to the simian star of NBC’s Animal Practice, we have an answer: EW has learned exclusively that Crystal the Monkey will appear in a guest spot as an old friend of Scott Baio’s David on his Nick at Nite sitcom, See Dad Run. She is, in fact, on set this week shooting an episode.

See Dad Run follows David’s readjustment to family life with three kids after the sitcom that made him famous ends, while his actress wife (Alanna Ubach) returns to work. A new episode airs this Sunday at 8 p.m. on Nick at Nite, a half-hour that finds David trying out new parenting techniques. Should he be a tiger? A helicopter? (Hilarity ensues.)

Crystal (the Monkey) will first appear on See Dad Run this fall. One time she wore a dress on the red carpet.

'iCarly' alum Jerry Trainor stars in new Nick at Nite comedy 'Wendell & Vinnie' -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Have your kids — or even you (we won’t tell!) — had a spaghetti taco-shaped hole in their hearts since iCarly went off the air in November?

If so, this clip might help ease your pain. It’s a new promo for Wendell & Vinnie, an upcoming Nick at Nite comedy that stars Jerry Trainor — a.k.a. Carly’s wacky older brother Spencer — as Vinnie, a manchild who is forced to grow up when he becomes the guardian of his 12-year-old nephew Wendell (Buddy Handleson of Shake It Up). Think of it as The Odd Couple meets Big Daddy, or a Judd Apatow movie revamped for a family network.

Scott Baio plays a TV dad learning to be a real dad again in 'See Dad Run' -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS

On Nick at Nite’s upcoming show See Dad Run, David Hobbs (Scott Baio) switches parenting roles with his wife, becoming the stay-at-home dad as his wife returns to work. But the switcheroo is no normal feat for this entertainment business family. David was the perfect TV dad on a family sitcom for 10 years, and he quickly finds that fathering without a script is not all that easy.

See Dad Run — Nick at Nite’s first original live-action comedy series — takes the actor back to the same stage on the Paramount lot where he shot Happy Days from 1977 to 1984. Alanna Ubach (Legally BlondeMeet the Fockers) plays David’s wife, who’s returning to her life as a soap opera star; their kids are played by Ryan Newman (Disney XD’s Zeke and Luther), Jackson Brundage (One Tree Hill) and Bailey Michelle Brown (Paranormal Activity 3). EW has an exclusive first look at a promo shot of the family below:
