One Direction plus Disney Channel's 'Teen Beach Movie' -- EXCLUSIVE

In case your tween needed another reason to look forward to the premiere of Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie, One Direction will cameo during three program breaks within the movie’s July 19 (8 p.m. ET/PT) airing to announce the winner of their Radio Disney Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series Sweepstakes. One fan and their family will get to fly out to L.A. to see the group in concert at the Radio Disney Luxury Suite at Staples Center.

And if you’re not the winner, don’t worry: Everyone will get to see the Radio Disney Planet Premiere of the band’s video for their latest release “Best Song Ever” from their upcoming concert movie, This Is Us. The feature-length theatrical release is directed by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) and will be out August 30.

Selena Gomez to headline Radio Disney Music Awards

You know who kids love like a love song? Selena Gomez. So it makes sense that she’ll be headlining the Radio Disney Music Awards, happening April 27. The awards show will then be presented in segments featuring performances, highlights, and behind-the-scenes content across multiple platforms, including Disney channel, Vevo, Radio Disney, and the RadioDisney.com and Disney.com websites.

In a nod to its target demo, the Radio Disney music awards are less “Record of the Year” and more “XOXO – Best Crush Song” and “Ultimate Breakout Star – Biggest Viral Artist.” Other performers at the event include Bridgit Mendler, Cody Simpson, Austin Mahone (who will be opening for Taylor Swift on her upcoming tour), and Coco Jones. No word on whether or not Gomez’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber will be making an appearance and causing a massive tween freakout. READ FULL STORY


Season 5 of Radio Disney’s multiplatform competition show N.B.T.  is already underway and in about a week, it’ll be time to start the voting on the latest set of contestants. The kick-off concert last weekend brought out not only Disney TV stars like Bella Thorne and Zendaya  (Shake it Up) and Kelli Berglund and Billy Unger (Lab Rats), but also past N.B.T. artists Shealeigh and Coco Jones, who performed along with this season’s five new contestants and R5. 'Good Luck Charlie' star Bridgit Mendler set to release first album -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

You’ve already heard her voice on the theme song for Good Luck Charlie (“Hang in There, Baby”) but Bridgit Mendler is hoping you’ll also check out her debut album Hello, My Name Is…, out Oct. 22. The actress, whose first single “Ready or Not” came out in August and has gotten over 11 million views on its video, took Radio Disney’s Total Access into the studio with her and talked about her love of music and some of her influences, who include Etta James and Adele.
