Ringo Starr may be teaming up with Paul McCartney to perform at the Grammy Awards and accept the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award for the Beatles on Jan. 26, but first he’s in need of some major rescuing by the Powerpuff Girls. Or, at least his voice is.

EW announced in December that The Powerpuff Girls would be returning to your TV screen for a new Cartoon Network special, Dance Pantsed, on Jan. 20, and now we have your first exclusive look at Starr’s guest-starring role as Townsville’s flamboyant mathematician, Fibonacci Sequins. 'Powerpuff Girls' celebrate 15th anniversary with new special, Ringo Starr

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are back and ready to rescue the world again, all before bedtime. The Emmy-winning series The Powerpuff Girls is returning for the redesigned and reimagined CG special Dance Pantsed, just after celebrating its 15th anniversary on Cartoon Network.

Perhaps the newest “dash of Chemical X,” the special will feature a guest appearance by the voice of Ringo Starr as Townsville’s flamboyant mathematician, Fibonacci Sequins, who is kidnapped by Mojo Jojo. The trio of heroines is ready to thwart his plan and will all be returning to reprise their roles, with Catherine Carvadini as Blossom, Tara Strong as Bubbles, and E.G. Daily (who was recently competed on The Voice) as Buttercup.

Starr will also be performing the original music video and song “I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl” for the Cartoon Network special. (Don’t we all, Ringo. Don’t we all.)

Dance Pantsed premieres in the U.S. on Monday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Beatles legend Ringo Starr to release 'Octopus's Garden' as picture book

It seems Ringo Starr would like to be in an octopus’s garden in the shade once more. Simon and Schuster Children’s Books has announced a publication agreement with legendary singer-songwriter-drummer Ringo Starr for a children’s book edition of his famed song, “Octopus’s Garden.” Marking the 45th anniversary of the song’s creation, the picture book is to include a CD containing a narration of the story plus an original, previously unheard song from Starr. Aliens Love Underpants illustrator Ben Cort is set to illustrate the book. READ FULL STORY
